Steve Chitty's Birthday Party

Post by -ST- on Tue Mar 17, 2015 10:34 am

Hear Ye All,

The time is near to celebrate with our friend Steve who is turning 70 ageless years ....Yippeeee!

We needed a grand space accommodate all of Steve's community, so the lovely Sanford Hall at Kwomais Point Park will be home to the celebration.

Friday March 27 (his actual birthday and last day of work)

A few things about partying in Sanford Hall

~We're asking for a small donation to share in the rent to Surrey ($5-10).
~Please bring a lovely finger food treat to share : savoury or sweet, your preference
~We'll have a special occasion license and sell you the alcohol, (sorry no byob), wine and beer only $2.00 per.

As this is a community event, there are some volunteer opportunities:

* Chris our champion bartender would love someone to assist him for an hour or two during the night.
* Set up, food help and cleanup will also be appreciated . Talk to anyone on the committee.

There is a movement afoot for a group birthday/retirement travel fund....SCTV, yes, the Steve Chitty Travel Voucher.
Contact Virginia for details. v.gillespie@gmail.com

Hope to see you all there...feel free to pass the word to other friends of Steve.

See ye all there,
The committee:

Hi again Friends and Family of Steve,
Well the big day is fast approaching. Hard to believe that our ever youthful Steve is turning 70, isn't it? This Friday March 27!

Some clarifications and reminders:
Please arrive close to 7pm as we only have the use of Sanford Hall until 11 pm.
Yes there will be music music music, of course....it will start soon after 7. Mickey has been working hard putting together an all star musical lineup.
There will hopefully be a bit of space for jamming.
We were hoping that Surrey would deem us special enough to waive the facility assistant fee, but no such luck, therefore we need to set the admission at $10 to make sure we cover costs.
Any overage will be put to the SCTV travel fund  (Steve Chitty Travel Fund, of course.) Donations for that fund will also be received at the party or contact Virginia.

Hors D'oeuvres and sweets would be most appreciated...nothing that needs chilling or heating please.
Wine and beer will be sold at a reasonable cost, bring your toonies.
See you all there,
Harriet for the Chitty Committee

Please forward this to anyone whom you may have invited...let's fill that hall
