Acoustic Song Circle Night - Monthly
Would you like to see one night per month set aside as an acoustic oriented song circle?
We would set up chairs in a big circle on the floor in front of the stage and rotate - one song per person.

What do you think?

We've had three of these now - 
First Thursday of August, September, November.

If all goes as it has been the next will be Thursday December 4th.

Seems to have been well supported and well received. What did you think?

The song circle is, by far, my favorite coffee house event, along with the pot luck end-of-the-month gatherings.
Thank you, for providing the opportunity to really hear each individual's special gifts in the circle format. It provides a venue for each voice to be heard and acknowledged, without being over shadowed by other musician's tastes and styles. Although we all enjoy the talents of our more seasoned musicians, the circle format is a great way to encourage new talent.

Thank you for joining the Forum.

I'm glad that you are enjoying the Song Circle Nights.

I appreciate your candid thoughts about the merits of this format. I like to hear an individual musical voice and it's nice when that inspires a communal experience. I feel that the Song Circles foster that.

The stage show may be a step-up for some, for others it may be a step too far. Perhaps the Song Circle on the floor is more inviting.

Thank you, ST. The recordings are next on my to do lists the computer is acting up, so listening to music is hit & miss.
Taping musicians so they can hear themselves is a brilliant idea. They can learn from it and the rest of get to enjoy their playing any time we are 'plugged in'. :-)

Song Circle Night - Thursday Jan 8, 2015 - 8:00 - 9:30 pm

8:00 pm We'll start the night on the floor in the Song Circle

9:30 We'll fire up the stage for the jam at 9:30

By popular request the Song Circle will be Jan 8 2014 shortened a little (depending on draw) to run until 9:30 pm. This is the consensus from the constant regulars lately. By no means is the Song Circle being minimized, if there are more people present and they want to follow this format time will run accordingly. Lately we've had more 'performers' show up.
